Each adoption program has specific requirements. Mi Yungs Prayer will evaluate which program best matches your family's circumstances.
Home studies are mandatory for all adoptions. The process includes:
- Face-to-face interviews exploring motivation, family dynamics, and parenting philosophy
- Documentation collection
- Adoption education on topics like transracial adoption and attachment parenting
In adoption, agencies may handle home study services, placement services, or both. Mi Yung’s Prayer is a Home Study Only agency when there is a Placement Agency managing the child's placement and adoption process.
Domestic Adoption:
- Adopting a U.S.-born child
- Potential open adoption involving birth family relationships
- Typically infants placed with families
International Adoption:
- Adopting from outside the U.S.
- Travel to the country of origin required
- Age ranges vary by country program
