MI Yung's Prayer Home Study programs are for both Domestic and International Adoption
Our services include your home study process, coordination with your placement agency and post placement/adoption services.
Colorado Home Study Programs
We are only able to work with Colorado residents. Our programs include:
- Domestic Home Study Only – For adoptive parents in Colorado when birth parents reside outside Colorado
- International Home Study Only – For adoptive parents in Colorado working with an international placement agency
These programs designate Mi Yungs Prayer as your Home Study Agency, while you work with a separate Placement Agency for the adoption match.
Why do I need to work with 2 Adoption Agencies?
In the adoption process, agencies typically serve in one or both of two roles: home study services and placement services.
If you think of how you will work with two (2) adoption agencies, think of it like a hamburger.
Home Study Only Agency is the Bun (top and bottom) who completes the home study and provides post-adoption/placement services.
Placement Agency is the Middle who completes adoption process, domestically when the expectant birth parent(s) resides outside of Colorado, or internationally, when adopting a child through another adoption agency's international adoption program, which Mi Yungs Prayer does not provide.
Mi Yungs Prayer Home Study Only Services provides home study and post-adoption/placement services for Colorado residents.
This structure allows Mi Yungs Prayer to ensure high standards of care, compliance, and support while remaining focused on the programs we are equipped to serve with excellence.
Understanding Your Home Study
A home study is a pre-placement report evaluating your readiness to parent. It is required for all adoptions – domestic, international, foster care, or foster-to-adopt.
The process can take up to 3-4 months and includes personal interviews, family information, and third-party references. A minimum of three home visits is required.
Your home study report will include but is not limited to:
- Family background and financial statements
- Education, employment, and relationships
- Daily routines and parenting experiences
- Home environment and neighborhood
- Readiness and motivation to adopt
- Background checks and references
- Safety inspection
- Approval and recommendation of children your family can best parent
